Summary Fourth-year PhD student at ETH Zürich (SPCL) under Prof. Torsten Hoefler, researching high-performance network topologies, traffic load balancing, congestion control for large-scale AI/HPC systems. Also a part-time Research Engineer at Microsoft, shaping next-generation datacenter fabrics and representing Microsoft in the Ultra Ethernet Transport Working Group.

Work

  • 2023.01 - Present
    PhD Researcher
    ETH Zürich - SPCL
Research on high-performance network topologies, traffic load balancing, congestion control for large-scale AI/HPC systems under Prof. Torsten Hoefler. Focus on datacenter networking, collective communication, and network simulation.
    • Network topologies
    • Load balancing algorithms
    • Network simulation (HTSIM)
    • Ultra Ethernet Consortium
  • 2022.08 - Present
    Research Engineer (Part-Time)
    Microsoft (via Experis)
Design and prototype network transport protocols for Azure's AI and HPC infrastructure as part of the Network Architecture team. Microsoft representative for Ultra Ethernet (UE) Transport Working Group, helping shape congestion control and load balancing standards. Developed proofs of concept for inter-datacenter congestion control, co-design of networking and AI workloads, and packet/flow-level load-balancing schemes. Improved and extended Microsoft's C++ htsim-based simulator.

  • 2019.02 - 2019.07
    Software Engineer Intern
    Amazon
EU Transportation team: built cap recommendation systems to mitigate short-term transportation capacity shortages (est. 5M USD yearly savings). Developed LSTM model in Keras for daily recommendations using AWS services. Created automated alerts for capacity misconfigurations that caught multiple high-priority issues for Prime Day.
